Taste of Craft Waterford

The Craft Granary, based in Cahir, Co. Tipperary is the South East Regional Craft Centre (covering Counties Waterford, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Wexford and Carlow). They have received a major boost for craft workers in rural Waterford from Waterford LEADER Partnership. The Craft Granary applied for funding to run a series of craft workshops in towns throughout Waterford county. The workshops will be held between January and April of 2012 and will focus on teaching traditional and contemporary crafts.

Helen Shanahan, Manager of the Craft Granary and Jimmy Taaffe from Waterford LEADER partnership have agreed that this is an exciting opportunity for people in rural Waterford to try out a new craft.

The Craft Granary are now looking for local crafts people both amateur and professional who would be interested in teaching their craft to others. Any craft will be considered. No teaching qualifications are required and the South East Regional Craft Centre will provide training to Craft Workers to enhance their teaching skills where necessary. If you are interested in getting involved and want to find out more please contact Carmel Keating on 052 7441473 or e-mail carmel.projects@craftgranary.com
