Gathering Exhibition

The Craft Granary is thinking about holding a month long Craft exhibition in July as part of the The Gathering, The idea would be to have a showcase of Craft made by Craft workers located in the South East of Ireland under the Title the South East Craft Gathering. Waterford Taste of Craft Exhibition

Monday 16th July - Sat 18th August
Following the huge success of Waterford Taste of Craft initivative. The Craft Granary will be showcasing works from craft classes that were run through out rural waterford. With collections from budding jewellery makers, ceramicists, sewing & crotchet, papermaking, basket weaving, card making, mosaic, pimp your wardrobe and portraits. This is set to be a great exhibition and all are welcome to visit.

Blacksmiths Exhibition

The Craft Granary is delighted to announce the Irish Artist Blacksmiths Exhibition which is on show now. I.A.B.A are growing number of artist blacksmiths in Ireland who hand forge, restore, conserve and manipulate iron, steel, stainless stell , copper, brass and bronze into classical and contemporary decorative metal work from large architectural commissions to small domestic items.
The exhibition will be on show until Saturday 14th July .

Historical Trail Leads Visitors on Tipperary Adventure

Butler Trail free family events planned for Carrick-On Suir, Clonmel and Cahir A tourism trail that links the Butler family history and architecture with the three towns of Carrick-on-Suir, Clonmel and Cahir in South Tipperary is being launched this month with a host of free festivities planned. Many craft demonstrations will available to view at each launch, such as calligraphy, basketweaving, fly tying, blacksmithing, spinning, weaving and rushwork. ‘The Butler Trail’, an initiative by the South Tipperary Tourism Company, stretches thirty-eight kilometres along the River Suir, encouraging visitors to explore the history and the buildings of the Butlers and in turn discover the character of the towns they influenced. HUGE SUCCESS FOR TIPPERARY CRAFT GATHERING EXHIBITION

Tipperary Craft Gathering is an exhibition of work by a newly formed group of craft producers from the Tipperary area. This runs in The Gallery till June 14th. The exhibition is a collection of craft, promoting the awareness and quality of local contemporary and traditional craft by the founding members of the Tipperary Craft Gathering group. It brings together the very best of Tipperary’s unique craft maker’s and artists, from ceramicists, jewelers and textile-workers to furniture makers, wood turners and carvers, paper and felt makers, sculptors and many more. NEW arts venue in a heritage castle in Co Tipperary

just a stone’s throw from The Rock of Cashel Killenure Castle, in the heart of Co Tipperary, is just 5 miles from Cashel. It has opened its doors to the public for the first time, The occasion is OAK - Open Art Killenure. OAK comprises a contemporary art exhibition in the Georgian outbuildings, studio gallery and sculpture walk around the grounds. Over 30 artists have made work for the 2012 exhibition. Craftspeople taking part in the exhibition, many making site-specific work, include: Cormac Boydell, Lian Callaghan, Andrea Cleary, Inga Hamilton, Sonja Landweer, Andrew Ludick, Liz Nilsson, Caroline Schofield and Gwen Wilkinson.
