Historical Trail Leads Visitors on Tipperary Adventure

Butler Trail free family events planned for Carrick-On Suir, Clonmel and Cahir A tourism trail that links the Butler family history and architecture with the three towns of Carrick-on-Suir, Clonmel and Cahir in South Tipperary is being launched this month with a host of free festivities planned. Many craft demonstrations will available to view at each launch, such as calligraphy, basketweaving, fly tying, blacksmithing, spinning, weaving and rushwork. ‘The Butler Trail’, an initiative by the South Tipperary Tourism Company, stretches thirty-eight kilometres along the River Suir, encouraging visitors to explore the history and the buildings of the Butlers and in turn discover the character of the towns they influenced.
