Taste of Craft Waterford
The Craft Granary, based in Cahir, Co. Tipperary is the South East Regional Craft Centre (covering Counties Waterford, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Wexford and Carlow). They have received a major boost for craft workers in rural Waterford from Waterford LEADER Partnership. The Craft Granary applied for funding to run a series of craft workshops in towns throughout Waterford county. The workshops will be held between January and April of 2012 and will focus on teaching traditional and contemporary crafts.
Helen Shanahan, Manager of the Craft Granary and Jimmy Taaffe from Waterford LEADER partnership have agreed that this is an exciting opportunity for people in rural Waterford to try out a new craft.
The Craft Granary are now looking for local crafts people both amateur and professional who would be interested in teaching their craft to others. Any craft will be considered. No teaching qualifications are required and the South East Regional Craft Centre will provide training to Craft Workers to enhance their teaching skills where necessary. Exhibiton Of Kilkenny Craftworkers
Joining in on the celebrations of 'Year of Craft', the Craft Granary is running a series of county by county exhibitions of crafts from the south east region. This is our final exhibition covering south east crafts. Come along to an exciting exhibition of Craftwork by Kilkenny Craft Makers in the Craft Granary Gallery running until the 2nd October. The exhibition features work by professional craft makers such as award winning Ken Foley Leather worker, also exhibiting are the amazing Paperworks of Tunde Tote, stunning Jewellery from Siobhan Hickman, exquisite Glassware of Eamonn Hartley and Pottery form Hillary Jenkins. Call Out for Craft apprentices!

Big Mountain Productions are working with the Crafts Council of Ireland on a new series for
RTÉ that will crown one amateur craftsperson, the winner of Mastercrafter.
There are six shows in the series. The first five shows will place 15 apprentices on an
intensive two-week residential course in the discipline of their choice: Ceramics, Glass,
Metal (blacksmithing), Textiles (weaving) or Wood (wood turning) under the expert
guidance of the relevant Master of Craft.
A judging panel will adjudicate, reducing 15 apprentices down to five allowing just
one apprentice from each discipline to take a place in the final five.
Show six; the grand finale will be recorded later this summer with the winner of
Mastercrafter announced then.
If you are passionate, creative, hard-working and you feel you have real potential to
make it in the craft world, then Big Mountain Productions would love to hear from you.

Famine Exhibition Opening at the Craft Granary This Month
There will be a Famine exhibition opening in the Craft Granary Cahir on the 6th April at 7.30.The exhibit will run until the 26th of April. The exhibit is mostly based on the famine locally, with many objects from famine times on display. Cllr Seanie Lonergan wishes to thank all the people that came to his aid with artifacts and information. Without these people and the help from his friends this exhibit would not be possible.This exhibition is the first of its type to be hosted by the Craft Granary and Cahir.

Sunday Craft Market in Dudley Mills Clonmel!
The market started last May 2010 and is located in Dudleys Mills, Clonmel,Co.Tipperary. We currently have 40 handcrafted stalls in total and they are all indoors. There are electric points available and toilet facilites also.
We are looking for Crafters , Foodies , Artists , Gradeners and anyone with a talent they would like to share.
The Stalls are priced at €15 per week and for this week only if a stall books before Friday 14th they will get one week free.
